"Alleviating as much of the burden for families as possible and allowing them to focus on their loved ones makes it all worth it."
Justan Goldstein joined the Levinson team in 2011, and has become an indispensable team member as General Manager. Justan manages the day-to-day operations of the funeral home, oversees anything technology related, and manages the team of funeral directors. He is always looking for ways to improve the services we offer to our families and to make our company more efficient.
Prior to his career at Levinson’s, Justan helped to run his family business, where he learned many of the managerial skills he uses today. He attended Park School and Drexel University, then CCBC, where he earned his Associates Degree in Mortuary Science.
In Justan's spare time, he plays and referees lacrosse, and likes to learn about new and improved technology. He and his wife, Jeanie, enjoy traveling and attending their son Zachary's hockey games, and daughter Talya's competitive dance performances. Justan and his family are members of Beth El Congregation.
"I feel truly lucky to be a part of such an amazing and caring team of professionals."
Erik Avant is a funeral director who began working at Levinson's in 2015, while studying to earn his degree in Mortuary Science from CCBC. Erik specializes in assisting families at funerals, and also takes great pride in caring for people's loved ones prior to the funeral. Erik's compassion and positive attitude makes him a wonderful addition to our staff of funeral directors, and a dedicated member of our team.
Erik has been in the funeral care industry since he was sixteen, working part-time in various capacities while still in school. Between Erik's experience and warm and comforting demeanor, a career in funeral care came naturally.
A Columbia native and resident, Erik and his wife, Lauren, are members of Temple Isaiah, where they enjoy meeting other congregants in the Howard County area. While not at work, he is an avid tennis player and enjoys hosting dinner parties for family and friends, but most of Erik's free time is spent enjoying the antics of his adorable son.
