Johnna E. (Jadwiga Elzbieta) Nagiecki, of Columbia, Maryland died peacefully at her home on September 23rd, 2024. She was born November 25th, 1951; the daughter of Helena (Borysewicz) Nagiecki & Kazimierz Nagiecki, she was one of four children. Both of her parents being of Polish descent, Johnna was born in Horsham, England following her family’s displacement after WW2. She immigrated to the United States in 1952 at just 2 months of age, arriving at Ellis Island on the Queen Elizabeth. Her family settled in Perth Amboy, New Jersey & she attended St. Stephen’s School & St. Stephens Church, a Polish parish. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1969, & then continued her education at Felician College in Lodi, New Jersey. Johnna began her career in teaching, she taught science & mathematics, before relocating to the Maryland area. She studied at University Maryland Baltimore County, before starting a new career path in the automotive industry. During that time, she met her soon to be husband, Joseph Collins (Joe), & they settled in Columbia, Maryland. They had two children, Anneke & Maya. Johnna filled her days by passionately gardening, listening to music, dancing with her girls, traveling, cooking lavish meals, & spending time with extended family. Johnna was extremely caring & compassionate. She always had a kind word or a thoughtful gesture to share with anyone; from friends & family, to neighbors & coworkers. She left a lasting impression on anyone that had the privilege to connect with her. Her intelligence, quick wit, & youthful energy for life will be truly missed. 

She is predeceased by: her loving husband, Joseph Ellsworth Collins; mother, Helen (Borysewicz) Nagiecki, & father, Kazimierz Nagiecki; her mother-in-law, Aileen Lottie-Mae (Collins) Wright, & father-in-law, Jesse Wright; her brothers-in-law, Theodore Wright, Hareem Badil-Abish (Bay), Clyde G. Wright, Joseph Duckett; & her sister-in-law, Patricia Wright. She leaves to cherish in her memory: her two best friends, daughters, Anneke Collins & Maya Collins; her brothers, George Nagiecki, John Nagiecki; her sister, Grace (Nagiecki) Spring; her brothers-in-law, Ernest Wright, Clinton Lewis Jr., & Greg Spring; her sisters-in-law, Felicia (Wright) Duckett, Annette (Wright) Lewis, Siri Ming, Paulette (Holmes) Wright, Thomasena Badil-Abish, & a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, & friends. 

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on November 14th, 2024. Please contact the family at maya.rose.c@gmail.com for more information.
