Jeffery Paul Shazer Jr., a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024. Born on May 26, 1982, in Alexandria, VA, Jeffery lived a life full of passion, curiosity, and love.

He is survived by his loving parents, Jeffery Shazer Sr. and Cynthia Lisa Mills, and his cherished children, Jimmie Roberts and Saria Hobbs. Jeffery's legacy is also carried on by his siblings, Russell Williamson, Melinda (William) Crotti, Leah Shazer, and James Shazer. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Jeff.

Jeffery had an extraordinary love for nature and animals, with a special fondness for cats. His deep connection to the natural world was evident in his passion for mycology, where he not only excelled but also became a legend in the field. Jeffery's expertise and enthusiasm garnered him a significant following, and his contributions will be remembered by many.

A man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, Jeffery often took nature walks barefoot, feeling the earth beneath his feet. His love for the outdoors and his gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In keeping with his profound respect for nature, Jeffery will be laid to rest in a private natural burial at Serenity Ridge Natural Burial Cemetery and Arboretum. His final resting place will reflect his lifelong commitment to the environment and his wish to return to the earth naturally.
